This policy explains what personal data I collect when you use this website or get in touch, why I collect it, and what rights you have. I keep it as short as I can.

Umber Motion is run by William Glover, a sole trader based in the UK, trading as Umber Motion. I am the data controller for the personal data described here. That means I decide how it's used and I'm responsible for looking after it.

What I collect and why
When you email me
If you email me, I receive your email address, your name if you include it, and anything you write, such as details about your business. I use this to reply to you, give you a quote and, if you go ahead, do the work.
The lawful basis is that you've asked me to do something before we might agree a contract, and my legitimate interest in replying to enquiries about my business. If you become a client, it's needed to carry out our contract.
Website analytics
I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit the site and which pages they look at. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across other websites. It records things like the page you visited, the website that sent you here, your browser and device type, and your country. I only see totals, not individual visitors.
The lawful basis is my legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used so I can improve it.
Hosting and security
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic technical details when your browser requests a page, so it can deliver the page and protect the site from attacks.

Cookies
This site doesn't set any cookies, so there's no cookie banner.
Who else sees your data
I don't sell your data or share it for marketing. I use these services to run my business:
- Cloudflare, for hosting, security and analytics.

These providers only process your data on my instructions. Some of them may store data outside the UK. Where that happens, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
I'll only share your data with anyone else if the law requires it.

- limit how I use your data, or stop using it

If I change how I use personal data, for example when I add an enquiry form, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
